JT Says Lil Uzi's Wedding Will Be Private & Elegant

Love is in the air for sure and maybe some wedding bells as well for JT, one-half of female rap duo City Girls, who is giving the world a rare glimpse into her several-year relationship with Lil Uzi Vert. But don't look for any flashy Instagram proposals or viral Shade Room announcements. This is a love story unfolding in the shadows, and that's how JT wants it.

Same for her latest performance in a fresh interview with Cosmopolitan, where the Miami-bred rapper speaks about her five-year ride with Lil Uzi Vert, one that, let's say, she's already planning for long white dresses and diamond rings.

"I'm not married yet, but for certain we are going to marry each other," she said with assurance. "That's my best friend. That's my dog."

The hip-hop stars have been romantically involved since 2019, and JT says their relationship is only getting stronger with time. Most of those relationships burn in the spotlight and die; those between JT and Uzi are of a proximal and platonic heat, referencing togetherness, friendship, and a mutual space, both literal and figurative. Literally.

"We just stare at each other in like, 'Damn, we're so cool, we know each other. We could exist and still like each other." It's beyond love," she shared. "He wants me to come hang with him. I'm like, 'Boy, we live together. Why do you want me to come to the studio and hang with you?"

That combination of love and laughter is the secret recipe, but when it comes to a proposal, JT's making the bar: private, personal, and not posted.

"I sort of don't want it to be on Instagram after," she admitted. "I do not want to have my engagement announced on The Shade Room. I don't want that energy. Oh my God, I would die. This is not for y'all."

JT's dream, instead, is more in line with the Beyoncé mystery approach, a surprise drop years later that leaves fans gasping. "I want it to go the Beyoncé route, like a little video of that, and then the people see it years later. Let's keep a few things to ourselves." And the wedding day itself? JT has a crystal-clear vision, and she's not settling for anything less.

"It just can't be ghetto," she said, laughing. "It can't be nobody with no ugly clothes. It can't be nobody blocking the way with too many phones. It needs to be very elegant."

There might not be a date or even a ring on public display yet; in other words, JT and Lil Uzi Vert are locked in, and whenever the big day comes, it's going to be a stylish, sacred affair, taking place on their terms.
