LiAngelo Ball's Divorce Filed Just Days After Pregnancy Reveal

In the newest episode of LiAngelo Ball's chaotic personal life, the former basketball player and up-and-coming rap star has officially filed for divorce from wife Rashida Nicole, a week after she publicly declared herself pregnant with their baby.

Ball filed the paperwork in California, and in the court docs, obtained by TMZ Sports, Ball cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. The couple were married on March 24, according to the documents, which cite their separation date as June 15. Ball is asking for joint custody and visitation of the unborn child.

The timing of the divorce is, to say the least, a little suspect. The news of the separation had only just broken when Nicole's pregnancy announcement started trending on the internet. Social media, of course, immediately began fantasizing about the sudden turn of events, though if Ball felt the heat, he was doing a good job of hiding it and there was also plenty of humor.

"Other people gossiped about my personal life, I don't get too involved in it," Ball told Billboard News. "Like I see it, like, of course, because, you know, everybody got a phone, but it don't rub me the wrong way or nothing because nobody really go what I go through every day. You not me, for real. So it don't mean s - - t, for real."

It's not the first time Ball's private life has been thrust into a public spotlight. In March, Baby Mama #3 Nikki Mudarris made waves of her own when she accused Ball of leaving their family out of the blue shortly after the birth of their second child.

"We have been together for 3 1/2 years, and last week he decided to leave his kids and me," she wrote in an Instagram post that quickly spread across platforms. "Told me he didn't love me and that he got someone pregnant yes, he is sterile and now he's chosen to go live a new life with them.

Although Ball has not publicly responded to Mudarris' allegations, his filing is, of course, very loud. Amid court filings, custody battles, and his new rap career the single "Tweaker" is his highlight, Ball seems willing to carve his path, come hell or high water.

Whether a love lost or lessons learned, LiAngelo Ball is keeping it moving, his way. For now, amid the growing shadow cast by his life beyond the court and the chaos that is celebrity relationships, change is the only thing he can count on.
