Philadelphia's rapper Meek Mill has an epic amount of not-too-prescient noise inside the boof and on the timeline as he prepares to release his new music just before dropping a truth by his standards loud and proud. The rapper posted a series of tweets that provided insight into what's next musically and, more importantly, what he truly feels about today's music industry climate.
The new Meek Mill is indeed on the way! The rhyme slinger revealed he is only one tune away from satisfying his existing deal distributor deal, and he's on the prowl for a new joint venture. "Searching for a new distributor for my music," he tweeted. "Holler at me… I have one more song with my distribution company and a project to release. Before summer… Holla directly at me and my team!!!! "I'm getting out before the summer!"

Meek isn't just dropping music but taking back control. On board with a simmering project ready to go and the independence to negotiate a new deal, this next chapter could be Meek's most independent, most stripped-down era yet.
"The problem is most of these major label artists are not gone but can survive if certain artists keep dropping!!!" he wrote. "They are programming trash music saying the game is failing."
That is a shot aimed at the very heart of the current music industry model, in which success is often a matter of algorithms, viral trends, and curated hype more than authenticity and ability. Meek is not buying it, but he's not afraid to tell the emperor he has no clothes.
The rapper-turned-singer then mentioned his recent single with R&B recording artist Friday as a shining counter-example to what he considers a corrupt system. "Like that Friday song, I got 10 songs with him that's like that, lol," Meek tweeted. "Because that was real goddamn talent on both ends! It's math….that is crack. I ma be performing at the Roots Fest in Philly.
To him, raw talent and emotion get people going, not viral dances or streaming bots. Arguably, the most razor-sharp part of Meek's rant was when he castigated technology. Without specifying, he blamed "algorithm-driven" platforms for spreading what he calls "propaganda" and watering down real artistry. It's a common worry among artists today, and Meek is adding his name to an expanding list.
Meek Mill serves not only up new heat but the entire establishment. He's called out the fake, doubled down on the real, and promised to shake things up before the summer sun fully sets. The game might change, but Meek Mill wants to let you know he's still playing by his own rules.
