Offset Fights to Scrap $232K Strip Club Judgment

The Migos rapper Offset is attempting to dodge a $232,000 court judgment that dates back to a fight that broke out in the plush VIP area of Miami's Booby Trap On The River in 2020. And no, this wasn't over a bad bottle service bill or a dance floor dispute.

According to a lawsuit filed by Leamsy Izquierdo and Humberto Crespo in October 2021, the whole thing began with a champagne spray. And not just any champagne moment but reportedly smeared all over Cardi B, Offset's wife at the time. What happened next, they say, was that Offset went into full WWE mode. He allegedly jumped from a level in the VIP section and started swaying, throwing what has been called a "flying punch" into the mob. It's not quite the vibe when most people pop bottles in the club.

Now, almost five years later, Offset is attempting to mop up the wreckage not with an apology jug of bubbly but with a legal filing. He's seeking a Florida judge to throw out the default judgment granted in the case, saying the ruling wasn't fair or properly contested.

Default judgments typically occur when a defendant fails to appear or respond to a lawsuit. So here's Offset saying, "Hold up, let me get a real shot at defending myself here." The court must determine whether that's an actual setback or a belated response to a six-figure slap on the wrist.

This is not the first time Offset's name has appeared in headlines next to wild nights and legal drama, but this one has a cinematic twist, including VIP bottle service, a champagne disaster, and a literal jump into action. The lawsuit describes a chaotic scene on the January 2020 evening when the rapper allegedly launched an "unprovoked" attack that soon transformed the gentlemen's club into anything but gentile.

As Offset attempts to wave the legal tail off this punchy night out, fans and followers are holding their breath to see if the court will grant him a do-over or if he'll be stuck with a mega bill for more than the drinks.

If Offset is trying to reset the narrative, this most recent motion is step one. Whether the judge is in the mood to wipe the slate is another story, but this is not the kind of hit Offset wants on his record.
