In testimony that's more Hollywood thriller plot than courtroom evidence, former Diddy assistant Brendan Paul was on the witness stand to offer a peek into Sean "Diddy" Combs' world behind the velvet ropes, and it's one hell of a wild, disorganized, and supposedly drug-happy place.
According to Paul, working for Dennis, the hip-hop mogul, wasn't just about working for him; it was about living for him. This is the lifestyle where forgetting a Lululemon fanny pack on your way out for a walk could get you fired. And for Paul, it did.

Paul was Diddy's employee from 2022 through early 2023 and described an office that felt more akin to military ops than mogul management. Supposedly, Diddy instructed his crew to "move like Seal Team Six," the Navy Seal unit whose nickname refers to high-risk operations, not concierge work for celebrities. But Diddy's attention to detail and loyalty were not just appreciated but demanded.
The gig was decently paid $75,000 a year (later increased to $100,000) but also exacted a profound personal toll. Paul said he was told to be removed from his girlfriend and family before he began. From the inside, he says, the job required 24/7 readiness, which left him taking Adderall and sometimes cocaine to keep up.
The court was told that Paul had a role that embraced more than just a personal assistant. He was also reportedly sent to help obtain and "test" drugs for Diddy, including cocaine, ecstasy, and the synthetic hallucinogen Tusi. It was all, according to Paul, a demonstration of loyalty. That loyalty, unfortunately, did not keep him from getting canned over that now-infamous forgotten fanny pack.
Then there were the "Wild King" night parties involving a blend of drugs, sex, and Cialis thrown by Diddy and company. After being served with a civil lawsuit by the singer Cassie, Diddy supposedly moved these parties from hotels to private residences. Paul recalled that cleaning up afterward was now part of his job description.
Prosecutors weaponized these allegations to make a case in the ongoing federal racketeering and sex trafficking investigation into Diddy's empire. Paul also got arrested in 2023 with 27 grams of cocaine, drugs he now claims weren't his but belonged to "Mr. Combs."
When Diddy's lawyer, Brian Steel, questioned Paul, he tried to minimize the allegations by asking whether drugs made Diddy even more industrious. Paul's response? Yes, Diddy got "very creative" with his utilization.
For all of the sensational allegations, however, Paul's very workaday attorney says his client wasn't a "drug mule," just a subpoenaed witness doing his bit. "Now that Brendan has finally been given a chance to tell his full employment story, we hope that the last 15 months of defamatory statements against him will stop," said his lawyer, Brian Bieber. It's up to the court and the world to decide. This is not the kind of bad-boy behavior that makes for a hit single.
